Dear…you
i saw you yesterday and i thought i should tell you, i was watching you.
I watched you walk infront of me, although you could see my eyes behind my sunglasses. I watched you sit across from me, i watched you look up at me. I didnt look away because i wanted you to know. I wanted you to know that i noticed you
I noticed your eyes, your hair, your hands and feet.
I noticed you smile and your nervious gaze as i didnt smile back.
when i stood up to walk away, i noticed you watching me…. and before i left i only wanted you to know that i thought i knew who you where. but after that moment you just werent who i thought you where. not anymore.

Dear Ms. Seeney
I like your daughter a lot and I think I have the ability to make her happy. Yes, I am 21 and she is 16, and yes, I understand how that can be of some concern. You have my assurances that I am after nothing from your daughter, just her happiness. She is one of the sweetest, smartest, most wonderful girls I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I very much wish for you to like me, to approve of me. I can make your daughter happy, and that’s all I want.

Dr Mr. Horrox
I know they don’t have email where you are now, or I’d write you a letter. My letter would tell you what a good teacher you where and how glad I am to have known you. I didn’t spend enough time with you to be friends but the obligatory hello in the hallway made us close….your class was boring, your voice was monotone. You marked as if you've never done it before and I never understood what you where talking about.
I’m gonna miss you.
Rest with the angels.
always,
Odett

I can’t remember 1989
I phoned you on Wendesday. I didn’t say a word, but I hope you heard the words that were being sung. I can’t listen to that song without thinking of you, and I’ve listened to it a lot lately. I wish you could have been there to hear it with me.
Come back to me.

Dear Mr. Cab driver,
Why don’t you stop for me? Do I look like a thug in my suite and tie? are you afraid i’m going to rob you or either your life or cab fare or both? because i’m not. I understand how hard your job is. Not knowing who may just need a ride to Pape and Danforth and who wants to stick a knife in your back. But that’s no reason to take it out on me, is it? I know that in a city that you may not call home yet, Or you feel that does not want you to call it home….I am not your worst enemy. I am the least of your worries.
So easy on the gas
slow down and let me in.
I have exact change.
love always,
Odett

Dear strangers,
Thank you.
Thank you for not holding the door for me and my forty bags of stuff. Thank you for not holding the elevator for me. Thank you for not flushing the toilet or in some cases putting the seat back down. Thank you for not sharing or caring or looking both ways. Thank you for nothing. And i hope you have a bad day.
yours truely,
Odett

Dear people I adore,
My school is putting on Romeo and Juliet as a play this year. There will be Kung Fu as well as kisses. It’ll be the week of May 10th or something like that (I’ll give you full details later). If you want to come. Leave a comment.
